We are seeking an experienced Marine Technical Supervisor to join our team in the Supply Chain Department at Mobil Producing Nigeria (MPN) Unlimited. The Marine Technical Supervisor is a key operational role responsible for the coordination of all marine activity conducted in support of tanker export operations at marine terminals, and the planning and coordination of all movements of rigs and barges operating in MPN fields. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of marine services, contributing to the overall success of Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited’s operational objectives.

What role you will play in our team

The Marine Technical Supervisor is a key operational role responsible for: 

  • The coordination of all marine activity conducted in support of tanker export operations at marine terminals.
  • The planning and coordination of all movements of rigs and barges operating in MPN fields. 
  • This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of marine services, contributing to the overall success of Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited’s operational objectives.

What you will do

  • Coordinate all marine activity conducted in support of Crude Oil and LNG export at marine terminals, including managing interface with ships’ agents, cargo surveyors, and inspectors to ensure safe and efficient turnaround of tankers. Coordinate inward/outward clearance by government officials for tankers at all export terminals.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on the vetting and suitability of tankers calling at all export terminals, including NUPRC / NNPC Clearances for export operations and quarterly export permits for co-venturers.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce strict compliance with terminal regulations, industry standards, and best practices, to ensure the safe, incident, and pollution-free berthing, loading, and departure of tankers.
  • Performance Monitoring: Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and assess the performance of marine operations, making data-driven decisions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide technical support to the Marine Operations Supervisor in the implementation of the ExxonMobil Marine Quality Assurance Best Practice Manual, and assist in the development and review of technical specifications and evaluation criteria for all types of marine craft.
  • Provide Marine SME guidance and advice during the HAZID, Risk Assessment, Incident Investigation, and planning and execution of marine operations in MPN Fields in line with all maritime regulatory requirements.
  • Resource Planning: Liaise with vessel operations teams for suitable chartered vessels for marine loading at export terminals. Plan rosters for allocation of Mooring / Loading Masters at all export terminals.
  • Maintain export/loading records, and dispatch of shipping documents via courier to lifting partners in Nigeria and abroad. Complete demurrage calculations for each loaded vessel and respond to demurrage claims.
  • Support other business functions within the Supply Chain group in the organization of UN Marine vendors’ safety forum, Vessel Key Officers’ Training, and interface meetings.
  • Coordination of Installation, Maintenance, and Monitoring & Decommissioning of Automatic Identification System (AIS) PortVision vessel tracking devices.
  • Review and update of MPN Marine Operations Guidelines, Marine Operational Procedures and Manuals.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum 48 months overall documented sea service.

We are seeking experienced and motivated individuals to join our Supply Chain team. As a Supply Chain Shorebase Superintendent, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing our Shorebase Operations.

Your primary purpose will be to provide day-to-day oversight and be responsible for operationalizing key tactical and strategic decisions and processes determined by management. You will also provide guidance, streamline processes, and enhance overall efficiency, ensuring the seamless flow of resources critical to our operations.

What role you will play in our team

  • Managing a multi-million dollar contract with the shore base facility vendor/service provider. The contract services include warehouses, stacking areas, quay-side, offices, residential and recreational facilities, stevedoring, and other vessel services.
  • Coordinating with operations to ensure swift and efficient service delivery of materials and supplies to offshore locations and backloading of materials and supplies from offshore locations.

  • Provide day-to-day execution of assigned tasks, strategic interface with Shorebase facility service provider, and Supply Chain Management across multiple units, including Aviation, Shorebase, Marine, Materials Management, Integrated Planning, Business Support, Land Transportation, and Fuel Operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize end-to-end supply chain processes, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement innovative strategies to enhance supply chain resilience and adaptability.
  • Conduct regular assessments of Shorebase facility service provider’s performance and relationships, identifying areas for improvement and risk mitigation.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices to drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain.
  • Manage and optimize Shorebase operations for efficient supply chain activities.
  • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure seamless Shorebase logistics.
