Meet Emmanuel Ahmadu: After Failing WAEC 17 Times, He Now Holds Dual Doctorates in the US

Emmanuel Ahmadu, also known as ‘Mr. Voiceover,’ has been awarded two doctorate degrees in the United States despite failing the West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) 17 times.

Ahmadu highlighted perseverance and self-belief in overcoming hardship in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos. Taking advantage of developing potential, making use of resources, building supportive networks are some of the advice he gives young people.

Ahmadu’s journey from personal and educational setbacks to becoming a global mental health advocate exemplifies the power of perseverance. “My story is a beacon of hope for youths facing similar challenges,” he said, encouraging them to transcend circumstances and make positive impacts.

Attending numerous schools due to family instability, Ahmadu persisted through five years of attempts before passing the O’level examination. His achievements at the University of Benin, where he studied Mass Communication, garnered international recognition and inspired others.

In the US, Ahmadu continues to excel, earning accolades such as “Distinguished Student Leader with a Big Heart” and “Outstanding Mental Health Advocate of the Year.” Recently, he was awarded an honorary doctorate in International Affairs for his global contributions to peace and mental wellness.

Ahmadu’s dedication and achievements have earned him the title of Professional Doctoral Fellow by The Across Global Institute of Foreign Languages, recognizing his leadership in mental health advocacy worldwide.
