2023 Nigeria Police Salary Structure

The Nigerian police force is in charge of upholding the rule of law, preserving safety and property, and defending people. The police force is organized into many levels and ranks, each of which has pay and benefits depending on the position held.

The Consolidated Naval Salary Structure (CONNESS), which was implemented in 2017, serves as the foundation for the pay scale for Nigeria’s police force. There are two types in the compensation structure: non-commission officers and commission officers.

There is a hierarchy of ranks in the NPF, that is very similar to that of the Nigerian Armed Forces. The ranks are listed from the highest to the lowest .

Other Benefits and Welfare

Packages for NPF Officers

The officers of the Nigeria Police force are not only remunerated on a salary structure. They are also compensated with other benefits and welfare packages. Below are some of the benefits that accompany the service:

 

1. Health Insurance

The officers of NPF are enrolled in the National Health Insurance Scheme, which covers both them and their families.

2. Traveling Allowance

This benefit is mostly for the senior officers of the agency. They are entitled to a traveling allowance whenever they are on official duty outside their state of assignment.

3. Housing Allowance

NPF officers are entitled to accommodation within their place of assignment. When there is no accommodation available, they are paid a housing allowance that covers their accommodation.

Furthermore, the NPF has a cooperative society that helps members access loans, savings, and buy goods at a subsidized rate from trusted customers.

Special marshals are also covered by an insurance policy in case of death through road traffic accidents, and they are also protected by an immunity provision in the Act.

How much is Nigeria Police Training Allowance?

The Nigeria Police training allowance for those who joined the police using SSCE certificate is between #10,000 and #13,000 while the training allowance for graduates is between #18,000 and #25,000.
